Do vertical radiators work as well as horizontal ones?

Go with horizontal convector radiators. No comparison for heat. If vertical panel radiators, they dont give out mch heat in comparrison.

Some vertical radiators are equally as good as horizontal ones. It depends on quality of waterway and air removal. Most well known brands are fully tested for this and work perfectly. Some fancy vertical radiators only work with added water diverters and restrictors and these can sometimes be problematic. Stick to the bigger brands and check the output is correct for the room and you will not have a problem with either type.

Vertical radiators were mainly designed to fit in small spaces that a horizontal couldn't be fitted. Where possible use horizontal and try to buy ones fitted with convectors, especially on external walls.

It depends on how they are made. If you are referring to designer radiators they give out less heat than a normal radiant convector radiator. If they are radiant convector rads then there should be a slight difference.
