Let me start by saying, what a great idea to be able to ask an expert before hiring. Big help.
So, I have decided I need a new boiler for the house and would rather get it sooner rather than later before the cold kicks in. A few questions (sorry to be greedy):
1. How much can I expect to pay for a boiler to be removed and new one installed? (Am I right in thinking they need to be Gas Safe?)
2. The price ranges vary greatly on viessmann, worcester bosch, ideal, Glow Worm, Vaillant etc (just looking at them online now). I have a 3 bed semi-detached house. What do I need? I want one that is good value, good warranty and you experts think is a good purchase?
Thanks for anyone who takes the time to answer.

Hi Lizzie
in my opinion the Worcester or valiant boilers are the best on the market you pay a bit more but get a good warrenty
and tend to breakdown less
for a like for like exchange i would be looking for around 350.00 plus cost of boiler and materials
i cant say exactly what model of boiler you need without seeing you one
but normally it would cost all in for a boiler exchange is £1500.00
Hope this helps and sorry for delay of this message I've been away on holiday
regards

Hi I normally change £1400 for the boiler swap mag cleaner(to proptect your boiler) a clwaning agent to clean the system first changing the pipework which may incorporate the upgrade of the pipe size to accomodate the new boiler i install ferolli moderna 32kw which comes with 5yrs parts and labour. i also include awireless programmable stat, inhibitor to protect the system . the registration of the boiler to gas safe but id need to coma and look at it first and this is a small powerfull boiler more than adequate to serve your property. it isnt a good thing to suggest what is best but this is what i chose to fit as it is middle the range and only has 3 moving parts (less to go wrong) and we have fitted quite a lot and havent had any problems. its a competetive market so the prices vary quite a lot but i wont fit rubbish as i dont want call backs as much as you dont wish to have breakdowns.

I recommend glow-worm flexicom boilers fit these all the time as a registered glow-worm install we can offer 5 year free g/tee cost vary subject to your system it may need upgrading to comply with the part L building regulation best to get a proper quote rather than some one just giving you price off top of there head most heating engineers will do this free of charge must be gas safe registered so the installation can be notified to building control to comply with part L building regulations john jap services sandhurst Berkshire .you can contact glow worm or go on there web site and they will give you details of company's in your are who will be registered installers

Hi, the cost of a new boiler depends on a few factors. If you have a conventional system ie. With a cylinder in an airing cupboard and tanks in the loft and if you want to swap that for a Combi boiler, the size of the boiler, your showering and bathing habits, number of people in the household etc. My advice is not to scrimp on your boiler and buy a little known make. It is best to sick with Viessmann, Worcester, Vaillant or Baxi (incl Main, Potterton etc). Personally, Viessmann are the best. German engineered for quality and reliability. They come with a 5 year warranty if fitted by a Viessmann Trained Installer. Is warranty can be increased to 10 years for an additional £230. Hope this helps.

I know we are probably biased but there's only one make ,Worcester Bosch brilliant engineering fantastic back up Which best buy again in 2014 The only brand to meet there best buy benchmark
Pricing and model difficult without survey but guess around £2000.00 -£2800.00
Do you want a combi or system ?
Make checks of gas safe registration for this type of appliance
Also the existing system needs to be flushed
We always do this and fit a system filter included in price
The boiler should be registered with the local building control (if they cant do this they should not be fitting it!!!)

Hello there, my names Wayne Gamble I'm a Gas safe heating engineer I fit a lot of ideal logic plus boilers they come with 7 years warranty and are reasonably priced against others on the market they are a good efficient boiler and controls are easy for the customer to use a 30kw boiler with flue & controls you would pay around £860 for and the labour for fitting and removing existing system would be around £400 this would depend on a work survey that would need to be carried out this is to check that the gas supply is adequate enough and also to check over existing heating pipework to make sure that is also adequate for the new boiler.
I hope that helps you if I can be of any more help please let me no
Regards
Wayne
