Let me start by saying, what a great idea to be able to ask an expert before hiring. Big help.
So, I have decided I need a new boiler for the house and would rather get it sooner rather than later before the cold kicks in. A few questions (sorry to be greedy):
1. How much can I expect to pay for a boiler to be removed and new one installed? (Am I right in thinking they need to be Gas Safe?)
2. The price ranges vary greatly on viessmann, worcester bosch, ideal, Glow Worm, Vaillant etc (just looking at them online now). I have a 3 bed semi-detached house. What do I need? I want one that is good value, good warranty and you experts think is a good purchase?
Thanks for anyone who takes the time to answer.

Hi Agnes,
Welcome to the site. Ask the Expert is really a fantastic idea, I must agree.
It is very important that you use a Gas Safe registered engineer. They are the only persons who are legally qualified to work on gas appliances.
Each individual engineer will have their own preference for boiler manufacturer and most will have their preferred supplier. It is very difficult to give even an estimation on the cost due to there being so many variables.
If you are unsure, the safest thing to do is to get at least 3 quotes from reputable tradesman in your area. There may even be some registered on here that are near you. If not, then ask friends, family, neighbours if they have had similar work done recently and who they would recommend. For tradesman, word of mouth referrals is a great form of advertising. Testimonials help too!
Best wishes.
Tom
